Parish Meeting April 2011: Annual Report from Ken Brown.
I have been responsible for obtaining annual conservation grants for the land owned by the Parish.
With Rex, our Clerk, I have met the Gloucestershire Archaeological Officer at the Breakheart Hill land to decide whether we have an ancient rabbit farming mound. A conclusion has been arrived at and now we can level all the other uneven mounds with the exception of one which he would like to remain.
As Highways representative I have found it difficult to get extra salt bins, particularly needed in the last two severe winters. I battled hard, as did our Clerk, to have more bins available in the village. I fetched extra bins from Thornbury and made them into suitable containers to be filled by Highways.
I am a snow-warden for the village and we keep a snow-plough at the farm.
I am on the Police Key Individual Network Committee, which meets quarterly to discuss which issues the police need to give priority to in our area.
